Welcome to VBS Extreme

Dear Parents,
VBS-Extreme, or better known as VBS-X, is an annual weeklong Bible camp for kids entering 5th and 6th grades. The weeklong campout is filled with fun activities, outdoor challenges, games and bible studies. Kids and counselors alike come back smiling, suntanned, exhausted, and with new friends and memories to last a lifetime.
It is our biggest children’s camp with over 40 kids participating each year.
This year we will be going to Old Faithful Christian Ranch, which is 95 miles north of Idaho Falls in Island Park. The cost of the campout is $150, which covers food, lodging, transportation and most activities. Each year we usually have a couple of scholarship donations from our congregation, so if cost is an issue for your child then I would encourage you to call the church office during church hours to ask about availability.
Our theme for VBS-X this year is “Basic Training.” Kids will learn some of the basics of being a Christian, which include the importance of lifelong Bible Study, Prayer, Fellowship with other Christians, and Service to Others. We look forward to equipping your child with the tools they need for a true faith-walk with Jesus Christ.

What to Pack (checklist)

Do Not Bring
We ask that kids leave at home all iPods, CD players, cell phones and portable electronic games.

What to Expect
We will be camping in cabins of 6-8 kids each at Old Faithful Christian Ranch in Island Park. At least one camp counselor will be sleeping in each cabin, with boy and girls separated. Camp counselors and/or activity helpers will be with kids during all activities.
Some of the fun activities the kids will be doing include:  200’ waterslide, sand volleyball, street hockey, basketball, initiatives course, archery, Frisbee golf, tug of war, group games, zip line, tubing on the river down at Mack’s Inn, and hiking near Big Springs.
There will be a camp nurse that will coordinate all medical needs for the campers, including supplying aspirin and other minor pain medications and first aid. If your child will be bringing any medications or inhalers, or has any allergies to any medications, they should be noted on the child’s Registration Form.
We suggest that kids bring about $20 spending money, and come ready to be physically and mentally challenged. We also ask that they come with an open heart in order to learn what God has for them in this life when they trust in Him for everything!
