Dramatic Opportunities

There are a variety of opportunities at Calvary Chapel for those who enjoy using their dramatic abilities.

Our main outreaches that include drama are:

  • Christmas Musical
  • Easter Musical
  • Vacation Bible School
  • AWANA Kids Bible Club
  • Puppet Ministry

Christmas Musical

We begin rehearsals in September and run through our performance in December.

Easter Musical

In 2012 we are bringing in the Drama Production by Reality Outreach Ministries, “Heaven’s Gate and Hell’s Flames”.

We will be using approximately 40 members from our fellowship to complete the drama. It will be an intense 10 days of rehearsals and performances. Rehearsals will begin Friday the 30th and will run all day Saturday, and Saturday afternoon.

We will then have performances nightly from Wednesday the 4th through Easter Sunday, the 8th. There are open auditions, but we need to know who will be attending the auditions.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer we minister to over 400 children through VBS. Included in our VBS are several drama opportunities for either the “drama team” which performs every day in the morning and/or evening sessions, and also Bible Characters who come into the classroom to tell the Bible story first hand. Dates for 2012's VBS are July 16-20.

AWANA

Awana is our Wednesday evening kids Bible club that runs through the school year for ages 3 through 8th grade. As part of the evening the kids go to “large group” where they hear Bible teaching that is presented in memorable, applicable ways. It is our hope to have drama & puppets as an integral part of that teaching. We will be using drama once or twice a month beginning in September.

Puppet Ministry

We use puppets for VBS and AWANA mentioned above, as well as for our Sunday morning Sunday school as needed.
