What is AWANA?
Awana is a Bible based international organization for Boys and Girls from Preschool through High School. Here at Calvary Chapel we have Cubbies, ages 3 - 4; Sparks, grades K - 2nd; and Truth and Training (T & T); grades 3 - 6, and Trek, for 7th & 8th grade.


When is AWANA?
It is held on Wednesday evenings, September through May. Beginning promptly @ 6:45pm and ending at 8:30pm.

What happens at AWANA?

  • Kristine Awana Leader     Kristine
         Awana Commander    Games - The clubbers enjoy a time of learning how to play fun games especially designed for the AWANA game circle.
  • Handbook Time - Each clubber works through a handbook during the club year. The handbooks involve memorizing Scripture, reading the Bible and praying for missionaries and others as well as crafts and other activities.
  • Counsel Time - Stories are told through puppets, dramas, or interactive teaching to challenge the clubbers with the Word of God, to get them excited about learning more about Him and to serve Him.

What else happens at AWANA?
Here at Calvary Chapel we have monthly themes for all the clubbers to participate in if they choose. AWANA has special events throughout the year. Some of the special events that we participate in are:

  • AWANA Grand Prix
  • Sparks-A-Rama
  • AWANA Games
  • Bible Quiz

How Can I Register?
Sign up at the Awana table in the foyer of the Sanctuary.
Awana Prices vary depending on group - payment plans and scholarship are also available.

Awana Special Announcements

February 24 & 25 - our Trek team (7th & 8th grade Awana club) is going to Boise for 24/7 - their version of Bible Quiz and Awana Games....should be a blast! Pray for Jeff and Whitney (leaders) as they plan, prepare, and take them, as well as for all who are going!

March 3 - 10am - 2pm - Grand Prix! (Pinewood Derby) - - register on a Wednesday - $7 per racer and extra $4 if you want lunch. If you don't want to race, come encourage your clubbers! It's a total FUNNNNN time!

Spark-A-Rama/Bible Quiz/Awana Games: - April 21st:

Any Sparky or T&Ter who wants to participate, and has finished a certain percentage of their books are welcome to attend. These are where we compete against area churches in games, as well as memory (for T&Ters).

End of Year Awards - May 23rd: We will be meeting from 6:45 - 8:00 in our regular classrooms for parties, and will move into the sanctuary @ 8:00pm for a 30 minute award ceremony. Please plan on being there to support your clubbers!
